Gym Companion

Train alongside someone instead of alone. Your Buddy shares the session, keeps the motivation up and helps with anything in Vietnamese at the desk.

Train next to someone instead of alone. Your Buddy shares the session, keeps the energy up and handles anything in Vietnamese at the front desk. A Sports Buddy is not a coach or a personal trainer: you set your own programme and your own limits. Gym entry is paid by you at the desk.

What is included and what is not

  • Your Buddy's time and company for the booked hours, paid in cash after the experience
  • Translation at the desk and around the gym
  • Motivation, and someone to share the sets with
  • Gym entry, day passes and locker hire, paid by you at the desk
  • Coaching, programme design or personal training
  • Personal accident or health insurance

Safety, helmet and clothing

  • No vehicle is involved; you travel to the gym yourself or meet your Buddy at the entrance.
  • Standard gym kit and indoor trainers. Most gyms ask for a towel, and some ask for your own padlock.
  • Indoors, so only your journey is affected. Bring water; gyms here are warm even with the air conditioning on.

Your responsibilities

  • Complete the health declaration and emergency contact before the session
  • Know your own limits and stop when you should; your Buddy is not a trainer
  • Use the equipment as the gym instructs, and ask the staff, not your Buddy, about anything unfamiliar
  • Pay the gym directly for entry and anything you hire
